  • CAMP 510 CAMP 510 is a kids' day camp in Oakland, California focused on creativity and creation. We worked closely with the organizers to create a brand identity package and launch campaign that represented the whimsical, youthful, playful nature of the camp while still providing parents with a clear, professional platform to research and register. After many iterations, the brand identity package returned to the concept of hand-drawn 3D letters that everyone used to make in grade school. Other design work included a full marketing campaign for web and print, website with integrated eCommerce and blogging plaform, apparel, iron-ons, and posters.     2012 Branding, Graphic Design, Web Design
  • TaxiCity Game This award-winning project paired my student team with Microsoft Canada and David Eaves to build a web-based game that taps into Open Data from the City of Vancouver, utilizes the Bing Maps Public API, and showcases the power of Microsoft’s Silverlight platform.

Open Data from the City of Vancouver’s public catalog was used to create the game environment; Bing Maps acts as a sort of GPS mini-map for the player; and Silverlight was our main development platform. Players take on the role of a freelance taxi driver in Vancouver, BC, tasked with picking up and delivering passengers to landmarks around the city. As the players level-up, they unlock new areas of the city and become more familiar with the geography of the region.

Our final product included three deliverables: the TaxiCity game, the ManPower game engine, and the process documentation that chronicles our experience developing a game in the latest Microsoft frameworks and the potential for Open Data and open APIs in game development.

Our team included Seth Marinello, Mohamed El Eryan, Sagar Datta, Ryleigh Kostash, Dhruv Adhia and Dashan Yue.

  • Digital Bridge A guerrilla marketing campaign utilizing print, web and social media to bring the people of Vancouver to CODE LIVE events during the 2012 Winter Olympic Games.

Bright-pink posters were plastered over the city, engaging passers-by with obscure references to the artist work and performances happening at CODE LIVE the following week. Users were subtly urged to visit digitalbridge.ca, which featured a promo reel of captivating artist, performer, and event information. Social media included a strong and responsive Twitter, YouTube, and Facebook presence, ultimately connecting people to the events.

Our guerrilla team included Andrew von Rosenbach, Azhar Boumarah, Daniella Pichardo, Shahrzad Aghasharifianesfahani, Al Sinoy, Nick Marouhos, Gabe van Bergen, Erez Barzilay, Airlia Hansen, Mohamed El Eryan.
